Tottenham move for 28-year-old attacker a possibility on one condition

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Brentford striker Ivan Toney in recent weeks and a move for the Englishman is a possibility.

According to Give Me Sport, the move is very much on the cards, but Brentford will have to lower their asking price for the striker. Tottenham are unwilling to meet the £60 million valuation and they could instead move on to Santiago Gimenez.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks. It is no secret that they need to bring in a reliable goalscorer and Toney could be the ideal replacement for Harry Kane who left the club at the start of the season.

Tottenham chose not to replace him back then, but they have missed his clinical presence and they need to bring in a reliable striker. The 28-year-old Premier League striker is certainly good enough to play for the best clubs in the country and he could transform Tottenham in the final third. Apart from his goalscoring ability, he is very good with the ball at his feet, and he will help Tottenham build up attacking moves and his hold up play will help bring others into the game as well.

He has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer in the Premier League with Brentford and a move to Tottenham would allow him to showcase his qualities in Europe. Then North London outfit could easily secure Europa League qualification for the next season and Toney will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining them.

The striker will probably hope that the two clubs can work out and agreement in the coming weeks. Spurs need to improve their attacking options if they want to win major trophies, and if they fail to sign the 28-year-old Englishman, they should look to sign the Mexican striker Gimenez.
